I was stil trying to figure out how to get my notebooks back when I new round of sync made disappear ALL notes except the only one from Android (that was now on both machines). It seemed that notebooks existed but were not visible. All of them disapeared, but when I opened a note that would be in one of them, I would see (in the note) that the note was in the correct notebook. And something else happened: I had four notebooks on Mac. Trash and hit the Enter button on your keyboard On the next line, type ls -al /. The one single note from Android showed up on Mac, but none of the 300 hundred from Mac showed on Android. To recover offline files from Trash using Terminal, take the following steps: Launch Terminal, then type the command cd. At that point, I had 1 note on Android and about 300 hundred on Dropbox.
Select the deleted files and click on Recover button to complete how to recover trash on Mac.
Then you can preview all recoverable files on the result window organizing by categories. Failed, but (following instructions I found elsewhere in this sub) I had copied all files I had on the folder I would use for sync in a USB stick. On the second window, choose a hard drive and click on Start button to search for the lost files. I first tried to sync Joplin on Macbook and Android with Syncthing.
